All of our cottages have a little pack of laminated walks for you to enjoy during your stay. They're routes we've put together for walks right from your cottage doorstep. This one won't dissapoint and is my favourite view of Tottergill Farm. It's not too difficult, but starts with a steady incline until you're on the fell above Tottergill and looking back over the rooftops of the cottages and to The Lake District Hills beyond. Even if you stop and turn around to go home now, it's all been worth it! If you're feeling a bit more adventurous though, this walk continues along through the fields above Tottergill and down into the pretty village of Castle Carrock. The route back is signposted from the village around the reservoir. We took the longer loop back, returning by the far side of the reservoir, but the mapped route is shorter, walking back along the first signed path for the reservoir. A short-ish walk and not too strenuous. Perfect for walking off the Sunday lunch.
Each time you go up is different, the view can be misty and magical, clear blue beauty, or, like this weekend - a complete winter wonderland!
Why not try it for yourself?
